There is a lot going on today, but here’s one show I can recommend. The Americana Music Association has again joined forces with Lincoln Center Out of Doors for this one, with Rosanne Cash headlining. Rosanne released a fine album earlier this year, The River and The Thread with songs about her relationship with the South. I’m sure she’ll be playing other songs from her long career as well.
Open the show tonight will be Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale, two Americana veterans. Buddy and Jim’s show at SXSW 2013 was one of my favorites, and I noted back then that their show “was Americana expertly played and turned up to 11.” I can highly recommend these guys.
Also on the bill tonight will be Brooklyn’s The Lone Bellow, and Laura Cantrell will host this show. If you can’t make it out to Damrosch Park, you can stream the show here. To get a seat for this show, I would suggest getting on line much earlier than the 6pm start time.
